2023 was a huge year for us here at Military Wild. If you’ve been following along, you know we’ve officially been in this biz for 5 years now. 5 years of service to our community. 5 years of incredible memories. 5 years of adventure. And 5 years of creating relationships with all of you!
A milestone like this one really makes you slow down and reflect. For half a decade we’ve been growing like crazy, pivoting on the fly, and juggling full time jobs with volunteer gigs on the Military Wild leadership board. Some of the big questions we’ve asked ourselves this year include:
Are we still heading toward our mission amidst the day to day hustle?
Are we still providing full value for our members?
Are we still making a positive difference in the world???
The resounding answer from our members, team, and Board is “YES, and…”
Yes, and we can make our values more defined.
Yes, and we can find ways to provide more resources to our members.
Yes, and we can make an even bigger impact.
But we can’t do it alone. We need your support if we’re going to accomplish these “Yes, and”s along with the other big things we’ve dreamed up for the next phase of our org. I don’t want to spoil it, but the next half decade is going to be huge. Think: more immersive experiences, accessible safety resources and gear, partnerships with some of your favorite nonprofits and companies, and more opportunities to help your local community and the earth.
Every dollar you donate to Military Wild will go to supporting these initiatives and our mission of connecting the military community with each other and the places we call home. But our mission goes far beyond having fun outdoors. The community we’ve built is a crucial and life giving resource to a population that is often left struggling alone and unsupported. Getting outside together helps forge lifelong friendships, connections to our often new and unfamiliar homes, and a resiliency of spirit that helps us be brave in all areas of life.
Of course, despite our never ending passion and tireless efforts, money is what makes the world go round. Monetary support is crucial for organizations like us. But there are so many other ways you can help.
