Howdy! I'm a transplanted Texan in Ohio. I grew up hiking and exploring in the American southwest and am grateful for the lovely green scenery with no "stickers" and few thorns. Active duty brought me to Wright-Patt in 2015 and now I'm a Reservist at my new "home base." I've lived in California, Arizona, Texas, Mississippi, Florida, Virginia, and now Ohio. I've traveled to/through 34 states and 7 countries. I've done a lot of camping, glamping, medieval-style recreation, tubing, canoeing, white-water rafting, fishing, hiking, and more! BUT! It was all done as I heavily leaned on the expertise of others to guide me. I'm not really a novice, and I am no expert, but I want to learn more and do more! I joined MW | OH a couple of years ago with the aspiration to become more knowledgeable and skilled so I can help my daughter become a skilled and thoughtful explorer. I love being one with nature, and I love what MW has given to me: growth and community.

Hello, I’m Allison. My husband and I are originally from the West Coast (I am from San Francisco, California and my husband is from Portland, Oregon) and we’ve been married for over 15 years. I am AD Air Force stationed at Wright-Patterson AFB near Dayton, Ohio. We love getting outside on the many trails in the area whether walking, running, hiking or biking. We live in downtown Dayton and it’s amazing because we have instant access to the extensive trail network only a block away. During my down time, I love to get outside on those trails or explore the many beautiful parks and preserves in Ohio and the surrounding states. My favorite inside activities include sewing, scrapbooking and reading. I also really enjoy camping and we have a small trailer we take on our camping adventures around the area. My favorite states are Colorado, South Dakota, Utah, and Ohio (of course!). I am very grateful for this opportunity to be part of Military Wild and hope to inspire others to get outside and explore the beautiful areas right in our backyard!
