Meet your GU Team
Jessica Schultz
Hafa Adai! My name is Jessica. My husband and I both grew up in upstate NY, and we currently reside on the beautiful island of Guam. My husband is a Supply Corps Officer for the US Navy and we currently have two of the cutest cats on the planet, Cheeto and Latte. I am a Middle/High school Math Teacher but am taking a teaching break while in Guam to enjoy island life to its fullest. I grew up camping, fishing and hiking as regular summer activities and snowshoeing in the winter in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains of NY. I have always loved the outdoors and have collected many outdoor hobbies over the years. I love running, hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling, scuba diving, riding my bike, golfing, and of course I can’t forget going to the beach. I think I truly fell in love in the outdoors while on a family vacation to Arizona. The terrain was absolutely breathtaking and different than anything I had ever seen before. I had always loved hiking but I think it was the first time I had realized that there is truly nothing like seeing the world like there is through a hiker’s eyes. The first thing my husband and I plan to do when he retires is to through hike the Appalachian Trail and then become park rangers for the National Park Service. I am so excited to be afforded this opportunity through Military Wild and look forward to the adventure I know it will take me on!
Favorite Adventure: Any hike done in Sedona, AZ, and any hike with a waterfall that I can jump in!
Favorite Trail Snack: Honey Roasted Almonds, Apples, and Cucumber slices
I always pack a hat, bug spray, and my GoPro!
Tami Owen
Hafa Adai! I’m Tami. I currently reside on the gorgeous island of Guam with my husband (Active Duty Navy), our two kids and three dogs. I am originally from a small town just outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. My love for the outdoors began as a child traveling and vacationing with my family. However, it wasn’t until we were stationed on the beautiful island of Oahu that my love for hiking peaked. There’s just something about going from “what was I thinking” as you’re sweating and having to catch your breath (what feels like) every minute to “this is incredible” as you reach your destination to be able to truly appreciate all that nature has to offer. When not on the trails hiking, you can find me at the beach snorkeling, diving or exploring the ocean on a stand up paddleboard with my kids.
Favorite Adventure: My favorite hike is Sella Bay in Guam. Sella Bay will always hold a special place in my heart. Funny story: I had set out to hike Sella with a group of spouses when we had found a sweet abandoned puppy near the start of the trail. Despite being severely malnourished, she hiked all 3.4 miles with us and never left my side except when she went back-and-forth to check on everyone else. Needless to say, she came home with me that day and joined our pack. Leaving a hike with a furry plus one is totally normal, right?!
Favorite Trail Snack: Mandarin Oranges and Uncrustables
I always pack a First Aid kit, bug spray, plenty of water and snacks and then some MORE bug spray.
Abby Pitts
“Hi! My name is Abby!! I am a Navy wife who is passionate about the outdoors, fitness, traveling and a huge animal lover. I love the gym, hiking, snorkeling, paddling, yoga, diving and basically anything and everything that gets you moving! My husband and I were both born and raised in Colorado Springs. I have been married to my best friend for almost 10 years. Married on Christmas Day 2011! Fortunate enough to be stationed in Florida, Virginia and now Guam! We have 5 fur children (3 dogs and 2 cats) that mean the world to us.
Being in the outdoors truly is my therapy. It gives me clarity and makes me appreciate all that life has to offer!
Favorite Adventure: My husband and I took a trip to Chiang Mai Thailand for our Anniversary and it was the best trip of my life. We stayed at an Airbnb with a million rescue animals. Went to a elephant sanctuary, climbed all the mountains, enjoyed multiple yoga studios and ate all the food! And we did that all on a Scooter!! It was an experience I will never forget.
Favorite Trail Snack: Oh definitely Uncrustables!!!
I always pack a baton, Pepper Spray, Gloves, Sunscreen, Bug Spray First Aid and Water!

Studio 13 North
Guam
Genuine Guam sea glass jewelry and home decor. My products are handmade and each are unique.
While on this little island I found a new love for sea glass. I comb the beautiful white sand beaches and find unique colors, shapes, and sizes of sea glass. I wanted to take these and make them more unique and wrap them in sterling silver wire. No piece is the same. You can now take your love for the beach wherever you may go. All sea glass was found here on Guam and hand wrapped.
