Hey MW Family, I'm an Army wife and mom of 3 who recently moved from the PNW to Savannah, GA. Every chance we can, we're getting lost somewhere together outdoors. My go-to is water, which means I love tide pooling, kayaking, alpine lakes, rafting & any beach any time. I'm currently an Anthropology grad student focusing on human-environmental interaction, so you can often find me participating in community-based environmental efforts. As a military family, we fully embraced constant change, centering our lives around finding the best local outdoor opportunities near each base.

Favorite Adventure: Ruby Beach, WA tidepools. Cape Perpetua (Thor's Well) near Yachats, OR. Tubbs Hill trail in Coeur d'Alene, ID. Rafting the Clearwater in Idaho with our oldest, Sliding Rock in Pisgah Forest, and hanging at the driftwood beaches on Whidbey Island, WA.

I always pack 98678 snacks for my kids (Plus bribery chocolate) and an identification guide for flora & fauna.

Hello there! My name is Stephanie and I currently reside in Georgia where my husband Luke is Active Duty Air Force stationed at Moody AFB. We’ve got two spoiled pups, Walter and Hank, that love to join us on our adventures and we wouldn’t have it any other way. I’ve been in love with the outdoors since I was a kid but it wasn’t until my early 20s that I began tent camping and hiking and I haven’t looked back since. I love snowshoeing, hiking, fishing, kayaking, gardening, camping, and cooking – there’s nothing better than a meal prepared in a cast iron dutch oven over an open fire.* To me, nature has always had a way of healing my soul and getting outdoors refreshes and revitalizes my spirit like nothing else. In the words of the great naturalist and writer John Muir, “Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.” (Our National Parks, 1901, p.56)

Favorite Adventure: My husband and I were able to backpack the entire Georgia section of the Appalachian Trail over 10 days and it was such a rewarding (and challenging!) experience. The mountains in North Georgia are beautiful, especially in the fall, and following the white blazes for 80ish miles was such a neat experience. My favorite day hike by far is the Green Monarch Ridge Trail with breathtaking views of beautiful Lake Pend Oreille in the Idaho panhandle.

Favorite Trail Snack: CLIF bars, Gu, and Buddy Fruits (the multifruit is the best!)

I always pack extra water and plenty of snacks – no one wants to be dehydrated or hangry. And I never leave home without bug spray or chapstick.
